June in San Francisco is packed with street festivals ranging from film to comedy. June is also Pride Month and with all the great events coming up this month, it’s hard not to have pride in the fact that we live and work in this great city with so much to do.
6/2 – 6/4 Colossal Clusterfest
Comedy Central and Superfly present this three-day multi-format festival featuring top comedians, musicians, and podcasters at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. This first-of-its-kind festival includes headliners like Kevin Hart, Jerry Seinfeld, Sarah Silverman, and Ice Cube.
6/3 – 6/4 Union Street Festival
Back for another year of fun, the Union Street Festival in Cow Hollow is a weekend full of arts and crafts, live entertainment and food.
6/4 Cochon555 Heritage BBQ Fest
This is a whole-hog competition dedicated to a global celebration of barbecue features five chefs from Park Tavern, Serpentine, Aina, Smokestack at Magnolia Brewery and Piccino. Each chef is given one whole heritage breed pig and one week to prepare the entire 200-pound animal. This is a culinary experience you won’t want to miss.
6/10 – 6/11 Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic
Take a day trip to Keiser Park in Windsor to join in the fun at this annual event that includes tethered balloon rides, food craft booths, and a kids’ play land.
6/15 – 6/18 San Francisco Black Film Festival
This celebration of African American cinema and the African cultural diaspora showcases a diverse collection of films from emerging and established filmmakers; more than 10,000 films have been screened from around the world since the inaugural festival in 1998.
6/15 – 6/25 Frameline LGBTQ Film Festival
The world’s largest festival of LGBTQ films, which also serves as the unofficial kickoff of San Francisco Pride, returns with a lineup of 147 films from 19 countries. In addition to several screenings throughout the Bay Area, Frameline Distribution has also partnered with Comcast XFINITY to release 15 titles.
Highlights include the opening night documentary about Armistead Maupin and the closing night film featuring Alan Cumming and Justin Vivian Bond.
6/17 – 6/18 North Beach Festival
Considered one of the country’s original outdoor festivals, the North Beach Festival is situated in San Francisco’s famous Little Italy. This event includes over 125 arts and crafts booths, live entertainment, Italian street paintings, and the blessing of the animals.
6/22 Best of San Francisco
The Best of San Francisco Magazine 2017 party combines food from top restaurants, drinks from premier bars and wineries, amazing live entertainment, more than 2,000 stylishly dressed guests, and a silent auction and grand raffle (benefiting a beloved San Francisco charity).
6/24 – 6/25 San Francisco Pride Celebration
A celebration of diversity, this parade and festival held at the end of June is a well-known San Francisco tradition.
