Adams Point
Adams Point is a centrally located Oakland neighborhood just north of 155-acre Lake Merritt. Named after early Oakland landowner Edson Adams, Adams Point has evolved from a camp for former San Franciscans displaced by the 1906 earthquake into a desirable enclave full of tree-lined streets, classic homes, and a subtle Mediterranean flair.
Lakeside Park – home to miniature theme park and long-time family favorite Children’s Fairyland – provides nearby green space and access to 3.4 miles of waterfront paths in the shadow of the landmark, art deco Bellevue-Staten Building. Grand Avenue and Lakeshore Avenue are home to a bevy of boutiques, bars, and restaurants, including hip brunch and lunch spot Grand Lake Kitchen. Nearby grocery stores include Whole Foods Market, as well as the weekly Grand Lake Farmer’s Market each Saturday.
Amenity-filled and convenient to the best of the city, Adams Point lives up to its reputation as one of Oakland’s most attractive neighborhoods.
