At RentSFNow, we love pets. And we feel your pain of trying to find a new apartment as a pet owner. We have many pet-friendly apartments available to choose from. In fact, most of our apartments accept dogs and cats (sorry, no reptiles or fish tanks).
We think pets have gotten a bad rap. And we believe having pets around is generally good for a community. They improve social interaction among neighbors, they encourage responsibility and common courtesy, and they make us smile. That’s why we consider dogs and cats our residents too.
We know how important our furry children can be in making a home our own. But most cities are not particularly conducive to owning a pet. Many landlords find it easier to just refuse pets completely than deal with any kind of screening. And with rentals being in high demand in the Bay Area, there are usually plenty of prospective tenants that don’t have pets to choose from.
San Francisco is a fantastic city for pet owners. Every dog owner here lives within a 10-minute walk of a park. Whether you prefer the wide-open spaces of Bernal Heights Park, or the cozy confines of Alamo Square Park, there are lots of options for dog walking and pooch play. There’s Fort Funston for coastal breezes, and Mission Dolores Park is an ideal neighborhood park for an afternoon stroll with city views.
You can easily see which units do and do not allow pets when scrolling through our list of available units. When looking at the list, look for the dog or cat icons—these units are pet-friendly. Clicking on an apartment will provide more information about any fees or restrictions, but in general we accept non-aggressive breeds of dogs smaller than 40 pounds.
There is additional pet rent for each pet and we allow up to two pets per apartment. There also is an additional pet deposit assessed. You can get more details by contacting us here or by calling us at 415-347-8600.
We get it: life is stressful. And pets keep us company, make us happy, and entertain us. Coming home to your best friend can be the best part of your day.
