Pacific Heights

Pacific Heights is a beautiful, classic San Francisco neighborhood consisting of quiet streets and buildings with architectural elegance. Only 2.5 miles to the Financial District with easy access to the tech shuttles serving the Silicon Valley make Pacific Heights a great choice for young professionals and established families alike.

Having survived the 1906 earthquake many buildings in Pacific Heights date back to early San Francisco. Housing consists of upscale single-family homes, penthouses, condos and charming apartment buildings, many with spectacular bay or city views. Some of the most expensive homes in San Francisco are located in what’s known as Billionaires Row. The former Spreckels Mansion is now the home of best-selling author Danielle Steele. Alta Vista park is a favorite with its stunning views of the city skyline and Lafayette Park is noted for its dog park attracting young and old gathering with their furry friends.

The Presidio, once a US Army outpost, is now a national park and is the largest green space in San Francisco. There is something for everyone with hiking, biking, golf, museums, dining and spectacular views in this beautiful urban refuge. One of the best access points is at the top of the Lyon Street steps with its view of the Palace of Fine Arts. On any given day you can find locals walking and running up and down the steps for a great workout in a beautiful setting.

Fillmore and California Streets are the business hubs of Pacific Heights and offer a mix of fine dining and casual cafes along with boutique shopping options. Don’t miss Harry’s Bar for libations and sports watching, Florio Bar & Cafe for a cozy and romantic Italian dinner, Taco Bar for Cal Mex, Jane for coffee and sweets and Salt & Straw for ice cream confections; only a few of the many culinary options waiting to be discovered. Mollie Stone's Markets on California Street for groceries offers many organic food options and even has a Starbucks located in the market for your morning coffee. Many small neighborhood Bodegas can be found sprinkled throughout the area.

Along with a lively nightlife you won’t want to miss the yearly Fillmore Jazz Festival. Featuring live jazz music, delicious food and drink covering 12 blocks in Pacific Heights for two days in early July.

Pacific Heights neighborhood boundaries include Van Ness Avenue to the east, Presidio Blvd. to the west, California Street to the south and Green Street to the north.
